Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Demise Marked by Overseas Koreans
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- The International United Confederation of Koreans released the December issue of its bulletin Thongil.

The bulletin carried special write-ups to mark the first anniversary of demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

It gave an account of a national memorial service for the anniversary, illustrated with his portrait.

It carried articles entitled "Eternal general secretary of Workers' Party of Korea", "Kim Jong Il and Building of a Prosperous Country" and "Tears Shed by Korean People".

It also carried the news that the U.S. magazine The Time selected the dear respected Kim Jong Un as a man of 2012.

The paper has selected most popular and influential men in the world by on-line voting among subscribers since 1927, the bulletin said, adding he was chosen as the first man for this year.

It introduced poem "Azalea-Flower of Love" written by Lyudmila Abzeyeva, member of the Russian Union of Writers, accompanied by a photo of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk on the occasion of her 95th birth anniversary.

It conveyed the news of the successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 in the DPRK.

It edited a photo of Kim Jong Un visiting the General Satellite Control and Command Center to watch the process of the satellite launch.

Also edited there were documents of the Korean Committee of Space Technology on the satellite launch which were ratified by him and photos of the satellite lifting off.

It carried a congratulatory poem Gennadi Sharin, member of the Russian Union of Writers, presented to Kim Jong Un as regards the successful satellite launch.

It also edited voices of world media under the titles of "DPRK Succeeds in Launching Satellite", "North Korea's Satellite Launch Shakes the World to Its Very Foundation", "U.S. Confirms Satellite of North Korea" and "Satellite Launch, Part of Plan for Improvement of Standard of People's Living and Peaceful Economic Development" and an answer given by a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry on Dec. 12.
