Floral Tribute Paid to Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Service personnel and people across the country visited statues of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and their smiling portraits in their residential areas on Monday, the anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the KPA.

Service personnel, people of all social strata, school youth and children laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill.

Seen standing before the statues was a floral basket sent by Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the KPA.

Placed before the statues were floral baskets in the name of the party, armed forces and power organs, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, units of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, institutions and industrial establishments, farms and schools at all levels in Pyongyang.

The visitors made bows to the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, recollecting the immortal revolutionary exploits they performed by exploring the road of independence, Songun and socialism and leading them along it.

Also laid before the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and portraits of the smiling leaders at Kim Il Sung Military University, Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, Mansudae Art Studio and Kim Il Sung Square and other places were floral baskets in the name of institutions and organizations at all levels and bouquets and flowers.

Service personnel, people, school youth and children in various parts of the country also visited the statues and portraits of the great men of Mt. Paektu in their provincial seats including Kanggye, Hamhung, Wonsan, Phyongsong and Sariwon cities to pay high tribute to them.
