Kim Jong Il Remembered in Foreign Countries
Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings took place in Mexico, Austria and Romania on Dec. 13 and 14 to commemorate the first anniversary of demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

On display in the venues of the events were photos showing feats of Kim Jong Il and Korean books including his works.

The participants paid silent tribute to Kim Jong Il.

Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, praised Kim Jong Il as an outstanding leader and veteran statesman of the world who led the Korean revolution and world revolution to victory for more than half a century.

His greatest exploit was that he pursued unique Songun politics, firmly protecting the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK and saving the world socialist movement, he added.

Thomas Losh, chief of the Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Vienna, and other speakers said the revolutionary life of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il represents the history of the struggle of the Korean people. He was an invincible and iron-willed commander who developed the DPRK into an invincible socialist state, he added.

Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, said he was admired by the courage, guts and distinguished political caliber of Supreme Leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un after watching the successful launch of the satellite developed by scientists and technicians of the DPRK by their own efforts.

Messages to the dear respected Kim Jong Un were adopted at the meetings held in Austria and Romania.
