Xinhua News said:

A national memorial service was held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK, was present at the service.

All the participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il.

Noting the president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK made a memorial address which was followed by resolution speeches, the News introduced its accounts.

Various other media also aired the news of the service.

They included the News Service and other internet homepages of China, ITAR-TASS and various internet news services of Russia, Russia 24 TV Radio, AP, UPI, VOA, Kyodo News, Jiji Press, Tokyo Shimbun, Asahi Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun, Nihon Keizai Shimbun and NHK TV.
