Unjust Measure of S. Korean Authorities under Fire
Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The Pusan Branch of the Teachers Union of south Korea (Jongyojo) waged an over-night sit-in strike on December 12 protesting the measure taken to punish again a teacher who took part in the campaign for the declaration on the situation.

The organization disclosed through its statement the fact that the Pusan City Office of Education again moved to punish the teacher who was reinstated to his post. He had been dismissed as teacher for the mere reason that he participated in the campaign which condemned the present "government's" unpopular misrule in 2009 but the charge was declared invalid by the judgment of the Supreme Court.

The statement said that teachers held protest demonstrations and became increasingly critical of the authorities but the office revealed its attempt to practice the punishment after holding a meeting of the discipline committee.

It censured the office for taking issue with acts of the members of Jongyojo only while leaving untouched those who were charged with illegality and corruption such as crude violence against students and extortion of money and other valuables from them.

It urged the authorities to retract at once the unjust punishment measure taken against the members of the organization and compensate to those who took part in the campaign for their sufferings.
