Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Meetings for remembering leader Kim Jong Il were held by crewmen of foreign ships anchored in Hungnam and Wonsan ports Saturday on the occasion of the first anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

Participants in the meetings laid bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung and the mosaic portraying peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu in Wonsan and Hamhung cities and paid tribute to him.

Present at the meetings were the captains and seamen of the Sierra Leone-flagged ship Heyuan and a Panamanian-flagged ship.

At the meetings the speakers said the whole life of Kim Jong Il was a noble one in which he devoted his all to prosperity of the country and happiness of the people.

He developed in depth the Juche idea and led the Korean revolution along the road of victory, they noted, adding:

He conducted energetic activities for the people while making a journey of field guidance till the last moments of his life.

He turned the DPRK into an impregnable socialist power by pursuing his original Songun politics.

He is always alive in the hearts of the Korean people and the progressive people.

They hoped the Korean people would register bigger success in their efforts to build a thriving socialist nation and reunify the country under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting at Hungnam Port.
