Foreign Media Report Answer Given by DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesman
Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Foreign media have reported the answer given by a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK to the question put by KCNA as regards the successful launch of the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 on December 12 and 13.

Ria-Novosti of Russia conveyed a report that the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK stressed that the successful satellite launch was a desire at the behest of leader Kim Jong Il and part of peaceful work in line with the country's scientific and technological development plan for the economic construction and improvement of people's living standard.

It went on:

The spokesman maintained that the right to use outer space for peaceful purposes is universally recognized by international law even though the hostile forces are showing signs of sinister bid to take issue with the launch for peaceful purposes, while terming it "violation of resolution" of the UN Security Council.

He disclosed that it is prompted by the hostility toward the DPRK to regard only the DPRK's satellite launch as long-range missile launch for military purposes at any cost.

He also said the DPRK hopes that all the countries concerned will use reason and remain cool so as to prevent the situation from developing to undesirable direction.

He stated that the DPRK will continue to exercise the right to launch satellites for the economic construction and improvement of the standard of people's living.

People's Daily, Xinhua Daily Telegraph, China Youth News, Beijing Daily, Liberation Daily and Central TV of China, Press TV of Iran, Nepalese newspaper Nepal Today and the internet magazine of the "Commune Forum" Information Agency of Finland also reported the same contents.
