Satellite Liftoff Displays Development of DPRK's Science
Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea successfully launched the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 with carrier rocket Unha-3 on Wednesday.

This satellite is for collecting information and data needed for study of space and earth observation.

As a great national event, its successful liftoff represented the DPRK's overall national strength.

Space development and peaceful use have become a world trend, but it is a small number of countries that are able to manufacture, launch and operate satellites by themselves.

The DPRK manufactured the satellite entirely with its own technologies and efforts and succeeded in putting it into a desired orbit, thus displaying again the might of its developing ultramodern science.

Now the DPRK people are very grateful to leader Kim Jong Il, who had made tireless efforts for the development of the nation's science in his lifetime, giving priority to science as well as to ideology and military affairs.
