Meeting for Supporting Korean Schools in Tokyo Held in Japan
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- A meeting for supporting Korean schools in Tokyo was held at the Education Hall of Japan in Tokyo on Nov. 23.

Present there were students and teachers of Korean schools, parents of students, compatriots and officials concerned of civic organizations and trade unions of Japan, dietmen, professors of Japanese schools and Japanese citizens.

Hiroshi Tanaka, honorary professor at Hitotsubashi University, made a keynote report titled "Need to support Korean schools, structure of discrimination and the act of going against history is intolerable."

He recalled that Koreans in Japan and Japanese citizens have conducted activities for winning the right to national education through their concerted efforts despite the Japanese government's persistent policy of discrimination.

The floor was taken by students and graduates of Korean schools and their parents.

The speakers called upon Koreans and Japanese citizens to solidarize with each other to further intensify the mass movement to protect all rights to national education and have the issue of supporting Korean schools settled.

Then followed solidarity speeches by Japanese figures.

The meeting announced a future action program and a resolution.
