Reinstatement of Discharged Workers Urged in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, December 10 (KCNA) -- The Metal Workers Union under the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a meeting in Phyongthaek, Kyonggi Province, on December 7 at which it demanded an urgent settlement of the situation of Ssangyong Motors, according to CBS of south Korea. Participants in the meeting charged that the issue of the reinstatement of the unreasonably discharged workers has not been solved. They demanded the authorities look into the situation of the company, clearly probe the truth about it and guarantee its workers' right to existence. At the end of the meeting the participants staged a sit-in strike in demand of the abolition of forced lay-off. |
