South Korean Farmers Protest against Authorities' Agricultural Policy
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- At least 10 000 south Korean farmers held a rally at the plaza before the Seoul City Office on Nov. 27 to condemn the "government" authorities' actions to devastate agriculture.

Speakers at the rally said the bankruptcy of south Korean agriculture is inevitable consequences of the Lee Myung Bak regime's reckless policy of opening agriculture and putting it on market.

Under the present regime the farmers have not been treated as human beings and have never properly done farming, they deplored, and went on:

The farmers will never tolerate the authorities' moves to conclude FTA.

They called for judging the Lee Myung Bak regime and "the Saenuri Party" for pursuing a policy for ruining agriculture and having the farmers' grudge settled through a regime change.

At the end of the rally its participants staged a demonstration.

That day the south Korean security authorities hurled police forces of 45 companies to cordon off the area around the plaza.
