Ri Se Gwang, DPRK's Gymnastic Ace
Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- Ri Se Gwang, a gymnast at the April 25 Sports Team, is preparing himself for the 31st Olympic Games to be held four years later.

He told KCNA that his goal is to win a gold medal at the Olympiad.

He took the titles in the men's vaulting horse and rings events of the 5th Asian Gymnastics Championships held in Fujian Province, China, some time ago. The movements he displayed in the vaulting horse event caused big admiration among gymnastic experts.

Born in Tanchon City, South Hamgyong Province, Ri began practicing gymnastics at the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace in Pyongyang at the age of seven and became a top player in domestic youth tournaments.

He won 17 medals in men's vaulting horse event of international tournaments, including the FIG World Cup Tournament, the 4th Asian Gymnastic Championships and the 15th Asian Games.

He was listed as one of the nation's top ten athletes in 2006 and 2008.
