Pyongyang Folklore Park (2)
Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- At the entrance of the Pyongyang Folklore Park is the general history education area.

In the area there are nine large murals encapsulating the Korean history spanning 5 000 years and customs of people in Pyongyang, the centre of the culture of the Taedong River that is one of the world's five civilizations.

The mural entitled "Korea is one of the cradles of human civilization" portrays the Komunmoru Site in Sangwon County dating back to a million years ago and palaeolithic and neolithic hominids, ascertaining the birth and the process of development of humankind.

The mural introducing Ancient Korea (early 30th century B.C.-108 B.C.), the first state of the Korean nation, depicts King Tangun and his vassals, Sinji characters and dolmen of the ancient country.

And murals "Koguryo (277 B.C.-668 A.D.), a powerful state that existed in the East for a thousand years", "Palhae (698-926), a thriving country in the East that inherited Koguryo" and "Koryo (918-1392), the first unified state of the Korean nation" represent the territories, founders of the states, patriotic-minded generals, masters, struggles against invasions, achievements in science and culture and national customs.

"In defence of national sovereignty in modern ages (mid-19th century-early 20th century)", "Pyongyang boasting of time-honored history" and other murals show the people's struggle against the imperialists' aggression and interference, creations mirroring wisdom and talents of the ancestors and the gigantic structures built in Pyongyang.

Customs and manners are also pictured in the murals.
