Meeting Conveys Kim Jong Un's Letter to Scientists and Officials of Academy of Social Sciences
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- A meeting for conveying the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un's historic letter "Our Social Sciences Should Actively Contribute to Accomplishing the Cause of Modeling Whole Society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism" was held at the People's Palace of Culture on Saturday.

He sent it to the scientists and officials of the Academy of Social Sciences on the occasion of its 60th anniversary.

Present at the meeting were Choe Yong Rim, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and other officials concerned and officials, scientists and researches, teachers, lecturers, journalists and editors of working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, scientific and educational institutions and those in the fields of preserving revolutionary relics and the press and organs of training party officials.

The members of the delegation of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan and the delegation of Yanbian University of China were present.

Premier Choe Yong Rim, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, read out the letter sent by Kim Jong Un.

Upon receiving the letter which would serve as important guidelines to be held fast to in developing our social sciences onto a higher stage as required by the new era of the Juche revolution, the participants expressed their resolutions.

Ri Hye Jong, president of the Academy of Social Sciences, called for solving all issues arising in studying social sciences as required by Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, regarding it as the eternal guiding idea of the WPK and the revolution and the guidelines of the Juche-oriented social sciences.

Song Ja Rip, president of Kim Il Sung University and minister of Higher Education, stressed the need to ceaselessly improve the teaching programs and methods of social sciences in conformity with the demand of the age of knowledge-based economy and train students to be talents possessed of ample knowledge of social sciences and creative thinking ability.

Ryang Kyong Bok, director general of the WPK Publishing House, underscored the need to thoroughly embody the ideas and theories set forth in the letter to information services and make active contributions to accomplishing the cause of modeling whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
