S. Korean Public Prosecutor General's Apologizing Farce Decried
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- South Korean MBC recently accused the public prosecutor general of his recent apologizing farce.

It said that following the detainment of an incumbent prosecutor for his irregularities and corruption, the public prosecutor general, Han Sang Dae, made a written apology on Nov. 19 in which he expressed heartfelt remorse and apology.

But public reaction to it was cold, it noted. Explaining the reason for it, the radio said that it was not his first apology and, worse still, there are some other things for which the prosecution should apologize in real earnest.

The prosecution has been labeled as a waiting-maid of power after the prosecution's investigation into a series of the cases that occurred under the present regime such as the case of illegal surveillance of civilians and the case of money envelop related to the ruling party, the radio reported.

Typical of them is the case of purchasing the housing lot in Naegok-dong, it said, adding there was an opinion that the public prosecutor general should be ousted with the investigation into this case as an occasion. However, he did not make a word of apology for it, the radio noted.

The incumbent prosecutor was detained for his irregularities and corruption but no one of the prosecution bore the responsibility for this, it said.

The public prosecutor general should make an apology for the wrongdoings not in words but in acts, the radio stressed.
