Overseas Koreans Call for Implementation of Inter-Korean Joint Declaration
Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- Overseas Koreans made public an open letter calling for achieving national reunification by thoroughly implementing the north-south joint declaration.

The letter was signed by at least 360 members of Koreans' organizations in the U.S., Canada and the European region including the chairpersons of the U.S. Regional Committee, Canada Regional Committee and the European Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration.

They included Yun Kil Sang, chairman of the Federation of Koreans in the U.S., Kim Su Hae, chairman of the Federation of Koreans in Canada, and its advisor Jon Sun Yong, Chairperson Ri Ji Suk and Secretary-general Son Kyong Sok of the Society for Cooperation among Koreans in Germany, Ri Jun Sik, chairman of the European Regional Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, and Han Chun Hui, widow of late Choe Hong Hui.

Today when the Koreans mark the lapse of 67 years since the national split they are faced with a task to realize their desire for reunification, the letter noted, and continued:

There should emerge in south Korea a regime standing for the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

All the overseas Koreans will stage a more dynamic movement for national reunification, confident of it.

In the meantime, Korean in the U.S. O In Dong, advisor to the U.S. Regional Committee, gave a lecture in Seoul at which he called on the Koreans to usher again in the June 15 era of reunification.
