Exhibition of Sci-tech Achievements Held
Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- An exhibition and presentation of sci-tech achievements took place in the DPRK on Nov. 20-23 to mark the 60th birthday of the State Academy of Sciences (December 1).

On display there by way of products, graphic boards and programs were more than 1 500 sci-tech achievements of 700 odd kinds, made by institutes under the State Academy of Sciences in the last ten years.

Most of the exhibits are ultramodern products of great importance in promoting the economic development of the country.

Middle-frequency induction furnace, developed by the Integrated Circuit Institute, is helpful to increasing the steel production, with 40 percent less electricity and 35 percent less fireproof materials than low-frequency induction furnace. This invention has been introduced to more than 50 industrial establishments, and it won a high appreciation from among experts and producers for its contribution to making equipment small, light and safe.
