Ryongsanri Pine Stock, Natural Monument in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The pine stock in Ryongsan-ri, Ryokpho District, Pyongyang, is one of the natural monuments in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The pine trees are growing around the Mausoleum of King Tongmyong, founder of Koguryo Kingdom (B.C. 277-A.D. 668). The stock covers an area of about 60 hectares, each having more than 500 trees.

Among them are over 350-year-old pine trees. Those trees are generally 20 meters in height, 1.6 meters round at bottom, 1.4 meters round in middle and 5-6 meters in diameter of crown. The girth of the tallest tree is 3.1 meters at bottom and 2.9 meters in middle.

The pine stock is of weighty significance in studying the biology of pinery.
