Unhasu Concert Given in Celebration of Mother's Day
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- The Unhasu Concert "Song Devoted to Mothers" took place with splendor in Pyongyang Saturday on the occasion of the Mother's Day.

Among the audience were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Ryong Hae, Ri Yong Su, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ro Song Sil, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, officials of working people's organizations, delegates to the 4th National Meeting of Mothers and women in Pyongyang.

Present there on invitation were diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations here, members of the military attaches corps and staff members of foreign embassies here as well as foreign guests staying in the DPRK.

The two-part concert began with the National Anthem.

The repertoire included female solo and female pangchang "Lullaby" and "Thinking of Mother", mixed chorus "Let's Sing of Mother's Day" and female solo "Song of Love"

The performers sang high praises of the undying feats of great Generalissimos President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who kindly led the mothers with loving care so that they can uphold the party's cause with loyalty and discharge their duty before the country and the nation.

The sentiment pervading the concert hall was pride and optimism of women of Songun Korea who are respected as flowers of the great socialist family. Children of Kyongsang Kindergarten and Pyongyang Taedongmun Kindergarten presented trio "My Mother Full of Worries", chorus and female duet "When My Mother Smiles with Pleasure" to the great excitement of mothers.

Female quartet "Moran Hill ", male solo and female pangchang "Yongchon Arirang", kayagum solo "Song of Sea" and other numbers full of national sentiment and interest added to the cheerful atmosphere of the concert.

Female solo and pangchang "People Are of Single Mind", female quintet "Our Beloved Leader" and large mixed chorus "You Are Mother" represented the gem-like loyalty of all the mothers across the country who are determined to do more good things for the prosperity of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il's Korea by cherishing today's honor.

The concert was acclaimed by the audience.
