DPRK Weightlifters Win 18 Gold Medals in Asian Championships
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- DPRK players proved successful at the 2012 Asian youth and juvenile weightlifting championships held in Myanmar from Nov. 5 to 12.

The championships brought together more than 200 players from over 20 Asian countries and regions including China, Iran and Thailand. DPRK players bagged 18 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.

Kim Kwang Song came first in snatch and jerk in 77 kg men's youth category, Jo Pok Hyang and Ryo Un Hui placed first in 63 and 69 kg women's youth categories respectively and Ri Su Yon also first in the 44 kg juvenile category, coming first in the total standing.

Jo Pok Hyang set a new world record in youth category.

Kim Su Jong came first in 75 kg women's youth snatch and second in jerk while Choe Hyo Sim first in 58 kg jerk. They both came first in total standings.

Kim Kuk Hyang took the first place in the more than 75 kg jerk.

Kwon Yong Gwang came first in 56 kg men's youth snatch and second in jerk, coming second in the total standing. Kim Kuk Hyang bested others in over 75 kg jerk, winning the gold.

Choe Jon Wi came second in 69 kg men's youth snatch and third in jerk while O Kum Gwang third in 56 kg jerk. They came third in total standings.

Pak Jong Ju came third in 50 kg men's juvenile jerk while Kim Yun Mi third in 48 kg women's jerk.

They came back home Friday.
