Successes in Cultural Construction in DPRK Introduced
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- Foreign media gave wide publicity to the successes made by the DPRK in the cultural construction.

The Chinese paper Huan Qiu Shibao on Nov. 8 reported about the great efforts being directed by the DPRK to developing physical culture and sports.

It said:

The world is paying attention to the sports passion in the DPRK after it won gold medals at the London Olympics.

It has taken unprecedented measures for the development of sports recently.

The recently created State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission will provide a uniform guidance to overall sporting activities in the country.

There are many sports teams in the DPRK.

There are sports groups at every factory, enterprise and school.

Mid-morning exercises and group running have already been systematized.

August and September are the months for examining people's physical strength.

There sprang up in Pyongyang recently the Fitness Center in Thongil Street, the People's Open-air Ice Rink and Yanggak-do sports village.

Internet homepages of China on Nov. 12 reported about the completion of the Ryugyong Health Complex, the People's Open-air Ice Rink and the Skate Park.

A Mexican TV conveyed similar news on Nov. 11.

The German MS Travel Company on Nov. 8 posted on its Internet homepage an article titled "Pyongyang Folklore Park" accompanied with photos introducing the park.

The article said that the park is an edifice of important significance in educating working people, youth and students as it vividly represents the history and culture of Korea.
