Copper Sculpture "Eagle", Gift to Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Copper sculpture "Eagle" is a gift presented to leader Kim Jong Il by a friendly visiting group of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in October Juche 87 (1998). It is on display at the International Friendship Exhibition House in the DPRK.

The members of the group had long cherished admiration for the Songun (military-first) politics pursued by Kim Jong Il. Their admiration grew deeper when he was confidently and energetically leading the work to build a thriving nation even though the country was in hard time.

The sculpture portrays an eagle on a rock, with its wings unfolding and talons stretching.

The gift represents the wish of the Chinese people that the Korean army and people would make bigger strides in developing the country under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il.
