Nepali Paper on DPRK's Free Medical Care System
Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The Nepali paper Sremik carried an article titled "Universal free medical care system of the DPRK" on Tuesday.

It said:

The free medical care system in the DPRK has been enforced since the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War by President Kim Il Sung who took it as the supreme task to pursue the politics of love for people and ensure their health.

Under the grim situation that required all the material and technological resources to be directed into the victory of war, the President decided to enforce the free medical care system.

Thanks to the energetic leadership of the President, the DPRK laid the groundwork for enforcing the system.

Despite the hard condition of war, medical facilities increased in number in comparison with that before the war, lots of medical workers were trained and the supply of medicines and medical apparatuses constantly improved.

The number of hospitals and clinics also grew.

The President saw to it that the Cabinet announced a decision in November of 1952 to enforce the free medical care system throughout the northern part of Korea from January 1, 1953.

For the first time in history, a public health system whereby the state took care of all the people's health was established in the DPRK.

The Korean people are strongly yearning for the President who established the most advantageous socialist public health system with each passing day, and are trying hard to hand down his exploits to posterity.
