Students' Meeting for DPRK-Japan Friendship Held in Tokyo
Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- A meeting of Korea-Japan University Students' Friendship Network took place at Joson University in Tokyo on Oct. 31.

The network was inaugurated in November of 2005. Over the last seven years since then it has conducted activities for friendship and exchange between young Koreans in Japan and Japanese youth in line with the basic spirit of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration, guided by the idea of "Continuous exchange" and "Active exchange".

Present at the meeting were students of Joson University and Japanese university students.

Speakers at the meeting said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration and called for keeping deep in mind once again the spirit of the declaration.

Japan's settlement of its past is a precondition for the improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations, they stressed.

They called upon university students to play a vanguard role in promoting DPRK-Japan friendship.

A declaration was read out at the meeting.

The declaration stressed the need for Korean and Japanese students to boost exchange and joint activities in close unity in the future.

The Korean and Japanese students will stage joint actions for the application of the tuition waiver program to the Korean schools, they stressed.
