S. Korean Organizations Demand Lifting of Discrimination against Korean Schools in Japan
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- More than 470 civic and public organizations of south Korea on Oct. 30 adopted a statement of solidarity demanding the immediate application of the tuition-free program for senior high schools to the Korean schools in Japan. They sent it to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

The exclusion of Korean schools only from the program fully shows before the whole world that the Japanese government is discriminating against the Korean schools and antagonizing them, the statement said, and went on:

Discrimination against Koreans in Japan is nothing new. But we cannot repress indignation at the fact that such inhumane actions are being openly conducted in Japan.

It is the historical responsibility and obligation of the Japanese government to guarantee the descendants of Koreans in Japan the right to national education.

The statement strongly urged Japan to stop the political and institutional discrimination against the Korean schools and apply the program to them.
