Microlite Tiles Widely Used in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- Microlite products of the Taedonggang Tile Factory are widely used in construction projects of the country.

They helped raise the level of architectural beauty in various buildings, including the library of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education whose renovation was finished some days ago.

Kil Song Ung, manager of the factory, told KCNA:

"Microlite has been introduced to many structures across the country.

This artificial building material is very effective in dressing structures as its physic-chemical property is better than marble and granite. It is uniform and mellow in tone, and its surface crystal pattern is little different from that of natural building stone.

Microlite is made by way of crystallizing glass fully or partially. Its flex resistance and compression strength are more than three times higher than marble and granite, and it is also stronger in hardness.

People regard microlite as a green building material for environmental protection because glass waste, metallurgical slag, soot, tailings and coal mucks can be used as raw materials for its production.

Our factory will do its best to supply enough quality building fixtures including microlite tiles to the consumers at home and abroad."
