Minju Joson Marks National Day of Algeria
Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson Thursday dedicates a bylined article to the national day of Algeria.

The Algerian people turned out in the national liberation struggle with arms on Nov. 1, 1954. Under the guidance of the Algerian National Liberation Front they frustrated the military interference and aggression of the imperialist allied forces and achieved a victory in the 8-year-long national liberation war, putting an end to foreign aggressors' colonial rule that lasted for more than 130 years.

The Algerian people celebrate November 1, the day the armed struggle started, as their national day every year, the paper says, and goes on:

After achieving the independence and freedom of the country at the cost of blood they turned out in the struggle to eradicate the aftermath of the colonial rule and attain national prosperity and build a new life.

They have achieved many successes in the work to develop national economy and stabilize and improve people's living.

The Algerian government has opposed imperialism and Zionism and striven hard to protect the dignity of the Arab nation, develop the non-aligned movement and boost friendly and cooperative relations with different countries of the world. The government and people of Algeria remember the support and encouragement rendered by the Korean people to them during the arduous national liberation struggle, in particular, and make positive efforts to develop the relations of friendship and cooperation with the DPRK.

The opening of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Algeria on September 25, 1958 was a manifestation of the common desire of the governments and peoples of the two countries.
