Rodong Sinmun Calls for Increasing Speed of General Offensive
Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday editorially calls for making the flames in Hamnam (South Hamgyong Province) flare up more furiously to increase the speed of general offensive.

To make the flames in Hamnam flare up more furiously across the country is a sacred work to glorify the immortal patriotic feats of leader Kim Jong Il and an important guarantee for bringing about the same miracles and innovations as those effected in the 1970's in all fields, the editorial says, and goes on:

If anything is impossible, it is not a Korean word. This is the disposition of the people in South Hamgyong Province who fully personified the faith and pluck of Kim Jong Il. When officials, party members and other working people make a general offensive in the same spirit, stamina and temperament as displayed in Hamnam, it is possible to let the spirit created in the 1970's prevail across the country.

The working people in all fields of the national economy are required to dash toward like the wind with the strong will to devotedly implement the party's policies.

It is necessary to cherish the belief that self-reliance is the only way for the on-going general offensive and make the flames of Hamnam flare up more furiously to demonstrate the mental power stemming from the nation's self-esteem.

All the party members and other working people should give full play to the Juche-oriented belief that one should look out at the world with one's feet planted on one's land and the staunch fighting trait whereby they create whatever fresh and advanced their own way.

All the people should fully display ardent patriotism in the on-going general offensive.

Not many days are left till the end of the year. There are still a lot of tasks to be fulfilled in this period but no fortress is unconquerable for us when we bring about uninterrupted innovations and advance in hearty response to the torch kindled by Kim Jong Il in Hamnam.
