Japan's Official Apology, Reparation for Crimes Related to Sexual Slavery Demanded
Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps in south Korea held the 1,045th Wednesday meeting demanding a solution to the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on October 24.

A statement was read out at the meeting.

The action for a solution to the issue of sexual slavery has been staged for 20 years and a Wednesday meeting has been held 1,045 times, the statement noted, adding:

Nevertheless, the Japanese government has shunned any official apology and reparation for the crimes related to the sexual slavery, shamelessly asserting that the issue of the sexual slavery has already been settled legally.

The statement recalled that a recent session of the UN General Assembly strongly denounced this issue as a sexual abuse committed in the wartime.

The Japanese government has not fulfilled its responsibility for its crimes against humanity, the statement noted, urging it to discontinue its base excuse and take an attitude of admitting its past crimes and owning blame for them.

The statement declared the organization would continue its actions for the guarantee of the rights of the women and a peaceful world till the issue has found its solution.
