DPRK Will Join Efforts for Establishing Fair Int'l Information Order: DPRK Delegate
Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The DPRK delegate made a speech at the meeting of the 4th committee of the 67th UN General Assembly on Oct. 25 when discussing information matters.

The DPRK will actively join the member states in their efforts for establishing fair international information order in the future, too, he said.

Still occurring in international information field are such things as some specified countries spreading their view of value and alien way of life to other countries by taking the advantage of modern information communications technology, and even agitating the overthrow of social systems, he said.

Accusing the U.S. Radio Free Asia targeting the DPRK and other Asian countries, he continued:

International information activities should contribute to the sound social development in each country and development of relations among countries, in name and reality.

UN member states should heighten vigilance against some countries' sinister political purpose with the use of reptile media, and strongly reject it.

They should also make joint efforts to establish new international information order based on the principle of impartiality and objectiveness which is conducive to the development of relations among them and well-being of humankind.

Another issue to which due attention should be paid in international information field is to decrease the difference in the development of information communications technology between developed countries and developing countries.

Duty and role of the governments of the developing countries are important in increasing their information capability but it is necessary for the developed countries to support it through transfer of their modern information communications technology.

The UN Department of Public Information should keep the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, impartiality, objectiveness and accuracy in UN information activities in the spirit of the UN Charter and expand the scope of cooperation in training information experts and technicians of developing countries and constantly take new cooperation measures at the same time.
