Doctorate Degrees Awarded to Overseas Koreans

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- A doctorate degree in history was awarded to Kim Chol, a department director of Liaodong Institute of China, and honorary doctorate degree in medical science to O In Dong, director of the Los Angeles Artificial Articulation Research Institute.

Kim Chol contributed to protecting and carrying forward the traditional national heritage of the Korean nation and O In Dong made great contributions to development of plastic surgery in the homeland.

The awarding ceremony took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Tuesday.

Present there were Vice-premier Kim Yong Jin, who is chairman of the State Degree Conferment Committee of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kang Chun Gum, general secretary of the committee, and others.
