Cemetery of CPV Martyrs Renovated
Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- The cemetery of fallen fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province, has been renovated on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the CPV entry into the Korean front.

Buried in the cemetery are remains of commanding officers of the CPV including Mao Anying, who laid down their lives in the fight against the imperialist allied forces in the past Fatherland Liberation War.

The Cemetery of Martyrs of Chinese People's Volunteers has been rebuilt, thanks to the behests of leader Kim Jong Il and the noble intention of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

A completion ceremony took place on Wednesday.

Present there were Choe Chang Sik, minister of Public Health who doubles as chairman of the Central Committee of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, Kim Song Nam, vice department director of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Kang Phyo Yong, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Hyong Jun, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned and other working people.

Attending the event were Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai, his embassy officials, a delegation of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China led by Vice-Minister Dou Yupei, and a delegation of the Dandong Municipal Committee, Liaoning Province of the Communist Party of China led by Li Shumin.

Choe Chang Sik said in his addressing that the army and people of the DPRK remember the heroic feats performed by CPV fighters who bravely fought under the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland.

He said Chinese relevant units gave full support and aids to the work for renovation of the cemetery.

We will make efforts to steadily develop DPRK-China friendship hand in hand with Chinese comrades in the future, too, he stressed.

Dou Yupei said that CPV fighters bravely fought to defeat the common enemies of the peoples of the two countries in the Korean front.

Dou said the cemetery has been successfully renovated to mark the 62nd anniversary of the CPV entry into the Korean front.

The cemetery will play an important role in educating younger generation, Dou added.

A wreath in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet was placed before the cemetery of the fallen fighters of the CPV.

Laid before the grave of Mao Anying and graves of fallen fighters of the CPV were wreaths in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, Hoechang County Committee of the WPK, Hoechang County People's Committee, units of the Korean People's Army and the Chinese embassy here.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Mao Anying and fallen fighters of the CPV and looked round the graves of martyrs.

They also went to the Songhung Revolutionary Historic Site.
