Kim Jong Suk, Mother of Revolutionary Martyrs' Children
Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un sent a letter "Children of Revolutionary Martyrs Should Become Dependable Backbone of Songun Revolution That Gives Steady Continuity to Bloodline of Mangyongdae, Bloodline of Mt. Paektu" to the teachers and students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School on their 65th anniversary.

In the letter he said that Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, was a great teacher of the revolutionary martyrs' children as she led them with great care to grow up to be successors to the revolutionary cause.

In the period from the anti-Japanese armed struggle to the building of a new society in liberated Korea, Kim Jong Suk always carried a handbook, in which recorded were the fallen guerrillas' birthplaces, home addresses and names of their children.

She prepared the handbook after listing to the story that President Kim Il Sung offered his only blanket for members of the Children's Union suffering from cold weather and donated money to dress them.

During the anti-Japanese armed struggle she always kept in her body the handbook, wrapped in oil paper, rewriting the memos if they were faded.

It was after the liberation of the country that Mangyongdae Revolutionary School was founded at the instruction of the President, and a number of officials assigned to find out children of the revolutionary martyrs who would study at the school.

At that time Kim Jong Suk with the handbook informed those officials of children's whereabouts, earnestly asking them to bring the children without fail.

In August 1947 she met with the children at the school and confirmed their names with her handbook.

Thanks to this loving care of Kim Jong Suk, those children of the martyrs could come under the bosom of the President and grow up to be pillars of the Songun (army-first) revolution.
