Recovery Campaign Makes Brisk Headway in Flood-stricken Komdok Area
Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- More successes have been made in the operations to recover from flood damage in the Komdok area in the DPRK.

Service members and builders are propelling the project for building a thousand and several hundreds of dwelling houses at the final stage.

The working people in South Hamgyong Province and under the Tanchon Area Mining General Bureau are effecting collective innovation in every work site and the people in the flood-stricken areas are helping the builders both materially and morally.

Wall-block assembling and plastering for one thousand and hundreds of dwelling houses were finished in a little over a month since the foundation work started, and roof covering and inside project are under way.

Preparations are being made to put the production on a normal footing, and roads and railways are being improved.

Nearly all plants in the area started production after removing almost all damage done to the production processes. The work to recover from flood damage done to the deep coal faces is still going on.

Servicepersons mobilized for the recovery of roads removed a tremendous quantity of earth and are carrying out such works as revetment, slope regulation and road-widening.

Thanks to the devoted efforts of railway officials and workers, the Kumgol-Taesin railway was reopened to the traffic.

The servicepersons and builders are accelerating the recovery drive in the high spirit to completely change the original appearance of the area.
