Mastoncus Institute at Pyongyang Maternity Hospital
Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- The Mastoncus Institute went into operation at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital on the occasion of the 67th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea (October 10).

The institute was built on the initiative of leader Kim Jong Il, who cared so much for women's health.

In his lifetime the leader paid deep attention to curing mastopathy. He saw to it that a department majoring in breast cancer was set up at the maternity hospital, and provided latest medical apparatuses. In November last year, he initiated building the institute at the hospital.

True to Kim Jong Il's intention, the dear respected Kim Jong Un took an important measure to speed up the construction of the institute and visited the construction site in late June this year, underscoring the need to build the institute on a world level.

The institute consists of a 4-storeyed main building and auxiliary buildings.

On the first floor, there are diagnosis and therapy rooms equipped with up-to-date apparatuses, including multi-purpose x-ray apparatus, roentgen CT and ultrasonic diagnosis device.

On the 2nd and 3rd floors, there are inpatients' rooms with showers and on the 4th floor are operation rooms and intensive treatment rooms.

The institute is staffed with efficient doctors and researchers.
