Chinese Paper Introduces DPRK's Efforts for Improving People's Living Standard
Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- People's Daily of China on Oct. 10 carried an article titled "DPRK Making Efforts to Improve the People's Living Standard" by its correspondents in Pyongyang.

The paper said that Oct. 10 this year marks the 67th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea.

It continued:

The Korean people are bringing about a great surge in production and construction with redoubled efforts, single-mindedly united under the leadership of the WPK.

The WPK and the DPRK government have registered great successes by channeling their efforts into improving the living standard of the people, in particular.

The DPRK government is dynamically pushing ahead with construction projects to more satisfactorily solve the issue of housing in Pyongyang.

One cannot but mention the apartment houses built in the area of Mansudae in the heart of Pyongyang.

Some time ago, eye-catching high-rise apartment houses were completed to become new architectural icons of Pyongyang. There sprang up around them public facilities such as the People's Theatre, schools and shops.

The government of the DPRK is building amusement facilities in a big way to enable its people fully enjoy a cultural life.

The Rungna People's Pleasure Park was recently completed on the bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang.

A great number of Pyongyang citizens visit there to have good rest.

The DPRK government attaches great importance to the work to improve its people's living standard.

The Korean people still have not a few difficulties but they are working hard to build a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of the WPK.
