Progress Made in Dredging Pothong River and Improving Its Embankment
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Soldiers are pushing ahead with the project of dredging the Pothong River and improving its embankment.

The project envisages removing hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of sludge from the bottom of the river section extending more than ten kilometers, planting 60 000 trees, turfing tens of hectares of land and paving thousands of square meters of promenade with colorful flagstones.

The sludge removed by the soldiers for 24 hours from noon on Thursday accounted for 42 percent of the total amount.

Detailed measures have been taken to complete the project through three-dimensional and finish-one-by-one methods with all kinds of vehicles and forces.

The river banks are vibrant with courageous frontline-style agitation activities.

The soldiers are wading through sludge, carrying sacks of sludge on their backs.

The project has made progress by the devoted efforts made by the soldiers who are breaking through bottlenecks and difficulties in the spirit of thoroughly carrying out the leader's instructions, the spirit peculiar to the powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu.
