October 4 Declaration Favored by Finnish, Danish Personages
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Finnish and Danish personages issued statements on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the historic October 4 declaration.

Antti Sika Aho, chairman of the Finland-Korea Society, said that the October 4 declaration is a historic one for achieving peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean Peninsula along with the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

He continued:

The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration are milestones of Korea's reunification.

However, these historic declarations have not yet been implemented.

The provocations of the present chief executive of south Korea and the U.S. interference are pushing the inter-Korean ties to a more catastrophic phase.

The Finland-Korea Society fully supports the October 4 declaration.

Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, condemned the anti-reunification provocations of the Lee Myung Bak puppet regime.

If the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration had been properly implemented, such tension would not have been created on the Korean Peninsula, he noted, and continued:

Respecting and thoroughly implementing the north-south joint declarations is the only way for ensuring the lasting peace and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the peninsula.

The progressive Danish people urge the Lee Myung Bak "government" to thoroughly implement the October 4 declaration.
