Korean People's Struggle for Implementing Joint Declarations Supported by Foreign Social Bodies
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Social bodies of Democratic Congo and Germany made public statements on Oct. 4 on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the historic October 4 declaration.

The Democratic Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association in a statement said that General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration, paving a wide avenue for independently and peacefully reunifying the country by concerted efforts of the Koreans free from any foreign interference.

The statement recalled the dear respected Kim Jong Un in his historic speech on April 15 said that the DPRK would join hands with anyone who truly wants the reunification of the country and the peace and prosperity of the nation.

It called upon the world progressives to invariably extend support to the Korean people's cause of national reunification.

The German Branch of the Korean Friendship Association in its statement noted that the October 4 declaration indicated practical ways for turning the north-south relations into those of mutual respect and trust and ensuring detente and peace on the Korean Peninsula.

However, the present south Korean authorities totally negated the October 4 declaration from the outset of their office and have pursued confrontation with the DPRK, creating a touch-and-go situation on the peninsula.

It urged the south Korean authorities to stop staging joint military drills with the U.S. and implement the north-south joint declarations.

It also called for defusing the tension on the peninsula and creating environment favorable for reunification.

It expressed positive support for the Korean people in their struggle to implement the declarations.
