Project for Improving Hapjang River in Pyongyang Completed
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- The project for improving Hapjang River in the area of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun was completed on Oct. 9. The palace is where the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lie in state for perpetuity.

The project began on Oct. 2.

The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, initiated the project and saw to it that servicepersons carried out the project in the offensive spirit of "at a breath" and with the invincible militant might.

The servicepersons removed over 280,000 cubic meters of mud and repaired floodgates, retaining wall and bridges by giving full play to the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, matchless devotion and popular heroism. They performed such a feat as completing the re-arrangement of the area covering hundreds of thousands of square meters in just six days.

The soldiers finished the mud-removing project at a dazzling speed, saying that they have no right to have a break before carrying out the order of the supreme commander.

The repairing of the floodgates and bridges were completed in 48 hours and the project for repairing the retaining wall and the one for arranging the area around the river were conducted at a high speed.

Officials and working people here joined the service persons in pushing forward the project.

Thanks to the sincere efforts exerted by the officials and working people, the inclined plane of dike of more than 250 000 square meters and the area around the river have been arranged. As a result, the appearance of the area around the river has changed beyond recognition.
