Kim Jong Un Receives Congratulatory Message from Syrian President

Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, received a congratulatory message from Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic who is regional secretary of the Arab Baath Socialist Party, on October 7.

Bashar Al-Assad in the message said that it is his pleasure to extend the sincerest congratulations to Kim Jong Un and his friendly people in the name of the Syrian Arab people and on his behalf on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the WPK. He wished Kim Jong Un good health and the Korean people greater progress and prosperity.

Availing himself of the opportunity, he expressed belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will grow stronger in the interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries.
