Anniversary of October 4 Declaration Marked in India, Malaysia
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- There took place diverse events in foreign countries on Oct. 1 and 2 on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the October 4 declaration.

They include lectures, seminars, photo exhibitions and film shows held by the Indian Working Women Society for Study of the Juche Philosophy, the Indian Intellectuals' Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Malaysian HVT Tourist Agency and other companies in Malaysia.

The participants in the film shows watched DPRK films such as "Arms of DPRK".

Present at those events were people from all walks of life in those countries.

The chairman of the Indian Working Women Society for Study of the Juche Philosophy noted in his lecture that a north-south summit was provided for the first time in the history of national division in June 2000 and it resulted in the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration, a milestone of Korea's reunification.

In order to further advance the June 15 era of reunification, Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission, provided another north-south summit in Oct. 2007 which culminated in the adoption of the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, the chairman noted.

He recalled that a stumbling block was laid in the movement for Korea's reunification due to the south Korean authorities' anti-reunification acts of totally negating the inter-Korean joint declarations.

The manager of the Malaysian HVT Tourist Agency said that when the October 4 declaration was published, not only the Korean people but also all other people of the world wished to see Korea reunified as one.

However, traitor Lee Myung Bak of south Korea totally denied the joint declarations after coming to power, driving the inter-Korean relations to a collapse, he noted.

The Korean people are sure to achieve national reunification under the wise leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, he stressed.
