The 1970s was a period of great succession and epochal changes and miracles, in which a historical turning point was made in developing the Workers' Party of Korea and golden days were brought about in all fields of the revolution and construction, the editorial notes, and goes on:

They were vanguard fighters who took the lead in carving out the times of honor and setting examples in revolutionary work style.

Their characteristic features were intense loyalty to the leader, ardent enthusiasm and a high degree of zeal for work to unconditionally carry out the party's instructions under any circumstances, steadfast party principle and uncompromising fighting spirit.

The Korean revolution has entered a new stage in carrying out the cause of Juche.

Now is the time when the party is working hard to imbue all members of the society with Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and usher in a new heyday in building a thriving nation by dint of Kim Jong Il's patriotism.

This is a period of great changes that requires the whole country to seethe with elated revolutionary atmosphere and intensify the drive for bringing about great innovations and leap forward in all fields of the revolution and construction.

The WPK is now calling on the officials to effect a fresh turn in their thinking and work style and method as required by the stirring times and the developing revolution.

All officials should embody the work style and method displayed by those in the period of laying down the Party's foundation for carrying forward the cause of Juche in the 1970s and thus perform miracles and feats in all sectors for building a thriving nation.
