Rodong Sinmun Urges Japan to Settle Its Past Crimes as Early as Possible
Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- A recent issue of the German paper Frankfurlter Allgemeine carried an article criticizing Japan for working hard to tamper with its history and stoking ultra nationalism instead of making an apology for its past crimes.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a bylined commentary in this regard:

It is a reflection of the world people's hope that Japan will not forget the monstrous war crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past but make efforts to prevent the repetition of such historic tragedy.

Both Germany and Japan inflicted indescribable war disasters upon humankind as the war criminal states during the Second World War but they have covered completely different paths in the post-war period.

The commentary cites facts to prove that Germany has made an honest apology and repentance for its past wrongdoings and taken measures for sincere compensation to the victims.

It said that quite contrary to Germany's attitude, Japan has rushed headlong into overseas invasion, distorting and denying its history of aggression.

Progressive mankind and the world conscience are demanding Japan make an honest apology and reparation for its past crimes, the commentary notes, urging Japan to liquidate its past crimes including the worst crimes committed against humanity baffling human imagination as early as possible.
