Park grumbled that "May 16 military coup" and "yusin" were inevitable for "security" and that the "south might have been swallowed up by the north" without them. This was aimed to give impression that a little occurrence of human rights abuses in the period of "yusin" dictatorship was attributable to the "north."

Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

Park sought to craftily defend "yusin" dictator and shift the responsibility for his crimes on to the DPRK, while letting loose sheer excuses. This was not apology in the true sense of the word but an unpardonable act of justifying "yusin" dictatorship by taking issue with the DPRK.

Her "apology" was nothing but a farce to get out of a tight corner before the "presidential" election.

The fact goes to clearly prove that she remains unchanged in her stand on "yusin" dictatorship and ulterior aim, and that she is just the same with Park Chung-Hee and Lee Myung Bak in her attitude to the DPRK.

Such a trite political farce aimed to tide over the crisis by pulling up the DPRK will never help her win the people's mindset but will accelerate her failure.
