S. Korean Paper Blasts Japanese PM's Remarks on Sexual Slavery
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Hankuk Ilbo in an editorial on Sept. 24 lashed out at the Japanese prime minister for making such reckless remarks as evading the responsibility for the sexual slavery committed by the Imperial Japanese Army.

The editorial denounced the prime minister for letting outbursts that Japan has no plan to make an apology or reparation for the sexual slavery, when interviewed by Wall Street Journal on Sept. 23.

What is more intolerable is that he blustered any more persistent argument about reparation for that issue would only hurt the feelings of fair-minded Japanese, it noted.

He made similar reckless remarks in August, too, it said, adding that this means a total denial of the 1993 Kono statement which officially admitted the army's involvement in the sexual slavery and the coercive manner in which it enforced. Victims of such sexual slavery enforced by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Pacific war are found in different countries of the world.

It recalled that actions in demand of Japan's apology and reparation for the crimes committed against humanity are still going on and the UN released reports holding the Japanese government responsible for the sexual slavery more than ten times.

This being a hard reality, Japan has refused to admit such crimes, it noted, urging the Japanese government to admit its responsibility for the crimes and make an apology and reparation for them as soon as possible.
