National Korean Dress Exhibition Held in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- The 10th National Korean Dress Exhibition took place at the Central Youth Hall on the bank of Taedong River here on Sept. 19-21.

The exhibition brought together more than 1 300 items of casual, gala, wedding and children's clothes, presented by Pyongyang and other local areas.

Pak Hyon Sik, secretary of the Korean Apparel Association, told KCNA:

"The exhibition was held under the theme 'Korean-style Garments, Reflection of Intentions of the Peerlessly Great Persons.'

All the exhibits were designed to represent national characters.

The exhibition showcased rapid progress in garment designing and processing. It was highly appreciated for display of a number of seasonal clothes."

Jong Hwa Suk, a designer at the Central District Tailor Shop in Pyongyang, said:

"I have finished first at the annual exhibition for consecutive five years.

In designing clothes I tried to mirror the socialist cultural features as well as nobleness and uprightness of the Korean women."

Kim Ok Bun, a visitor to the exhibition, said:

"The exhibits have no eye-catching decorations and ornaments, but they all look plain, elegant and innovative, reflecting the aesthetic sense and emotions of the Korean women."

The exhibition witnessed a presentation of garment technology, fashion show and clothing books and multi-media show.
