Written Warranty Tells about Kim Jong Suk's Humanity
Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- In her lifetime Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, dedicated her all to her comrades and compatriots with noble humanity. That was why she enjoyed respects and heartfelt love from people wherever she went.

In this regard President Kim Il Sung in his reminiscences "With the Century" mentioned a story of written warranty telling about her humanity, which is as follows:

In the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, Kim Il Sung assigned to Kim Jong Suk a task to do an underground work to win over the people in Taoquanli, Changbai County in northeast China.

During her underground work in this area, she took warm care of its inhabitants, regarding them as her own flesh and blood.

One day, a landlord in the village banished his young kitchen maid suffering from typhoid fever, into a hut in a mountain. Nobody dared to take care of that pitiable girl.

On hearing the news, Kim Jong Suk went to the hut without hesitation and nursed the girl, sharing bed and meals with her.

When her comrades tried to dissuade her, she said, "If we can't save a child for fear of our lives, how can we restore the country and rescue our fellow countrymen? I am determined to sacrifice my life for the sake of the people, so I fear nothing." At last she rescued the young girl from illness.

Afterwards, the people in Taoquanli began to call Kim Jong Suk "our dear Ok Sun." Ok Sun was her anonym at that time.

Since then, when they happened to get salted mackerel, they called for "our Ok Sun"; when a ceremony for a one-hundred-day-old baby was held, they asked for "our Ok Sun."

She was their daughter, granddaughter and sister, indispensable in their live.

Therefore, when she was arrested, 500 villagers prepared a warranty for a good citizen. At that time, it was a common, popular mentality not to seal rashly with one's thumb a document testifying that a "disturbing element", spotted as a "traitor" or "communist bandit", was in fact a "good citizen."

However, the villagers placed without hesitation their stamps on the document for her safety.
