Kim Jong Suk, Mother of Songun Korea
Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, was mother of Songun Korea as she gave birth and brought up leader Kim Jong Il to be the heir to the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung.

One spring day in Juche 32 (1943), Kim Il Sung told Kim Jong Suk that he was faced with an enormous task to liberate the country from the Japanese colonial rule and build socialist society in Korea. This honorable task should be carried out through generations, he stressed, asking her to bring up their son, Kim Jong Il, in a good way.

Kim Jong Suk regarded this request as her lofty mission and duty as his revolutionary soldier.

When she was asked by Kim Jong Il in his childhood about his birthplace, she answered it was Mt. Paektu where Kim Il Sung fought against the Japanese invaders.

She would tell him about battles fought in Mt. Paektu and teach revolutionary songs which were popular among the guerrillas in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. And she personally taught him archery, horse-riding and shooting.

She also implanted in his mind an idea that a man should feel happiness in devoting himself or herself to others and trained him to be a son of the people regarding simplicity and frugality as his virtue.

Thanks to Kim Jong Suk's feats, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is now demonstrating its invincible might as the homeland of Songun.
