Kyodo News disclosed on Sept. 19 that the U.S. conducted its fifth test using plutonium to examine the capacity of nukes from April to June this year.

It was reported that used in the recent test conducted at a research center in New Mexico was a "Z machine" which emits strong X-rays without using a nuclear test place or causing any explosion.
